IL – LAKE COUNTY According to officials, a 36-year-old Lake County man has been granted a $10 million bail after being charged with repeatedly s*xually assaulting a young member of his family over a period of years. Authorities reported that Mcred Valderama, of the 24500 block of West Passavant Avenue in unincorporated Round Lake, is a violent offender on record. Detectives arrested Valderama at his house on Saturday after learning of the s*xual interaction between Valderama and the young member of the family on Friday.
The girl told a responsible adult, who subsequently called the police to report the s*xual assault. According to a press release from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, detectives found “substantial evidence substantiating the allegations.” According to Lake County Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli in an email response to Patch, the girl, whose age is not being published, experienced s*xual abuse many times per month over a period of several years.
Many of the assaults happened when she was younger than 12 years old, according to Covelli. Criminal s*xual assault aggravated criminal s*xual abuse, and four counts of predatory s*xual assault on a child are all class X crimes against Valderama. “Those who prey on our most defenseless are completely unacceptable to us. I’m proud of our detectives for their diligent work and prompt capture of this criminal, “John Idleburg, the sheriff of Lake County, remarked. “We are optimistic that the victim can start recovering from the abuse she experienced.
On September 21, Valderama must appear in court again while still in custody. Valderama had already been found guilty of domestic battery/bodily harm, according to the Illinois Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry. According to the register, Valderama was 26 years old when the victim was 7 years old.
According to online court records, Valderama was found guilty of several charges of domestic assault and bodily harm in 2012 and received a sentence of 24 months of probation. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge in 2014 for breaking the rules of the violent offender youth registry.
