Two individuals were killed in Wildwood, New Jersey, during a “unsanctioned” vehicle race known as H20i, and a man from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is now facing prosecution. Around 9:36 p.m. on Saturday, it took place near Burk and Atlantic avenues.
The 2014 Honda Civic and then two pedestrians were struck by Gerald J. White, 37, who was operating a 2003 Infinity, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office. Authorities claim that one of the pedestrians passed away. Her name has been confirmed as Lindsay Weakland, 18, of Carlise, Pennsylvania.
A passenger in the Honda Civic named Timothy Ogden, 34, from Clayton, New Jersey, also passed away as a result of his wounds. On the condition of the second pedestrian, there was no immediate word.
After the collision, according to authorities, White attempted to flee the scene but was eventually apprehended. He faces two counts of vehicular homicide, one count of vehicular assault, and additional connected charges.
The aftermath of the collision was shown on the Action Cam as numerous vehicles were wrecked.
Along with municipal agencies from Atlantic City, Ocean City, Upper Township, Lower Township, Middle Township, and Cape May, state police were called in to help control the commotion.
