ALTOONA, Florida – According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies spotted the persons of interest in Ormond Beach the next day after two people were discovered shot to death Thursday night at a residence in Altoona. Around 9 p.m., deputies claimed they responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in Altoona’s northeast.
Deputies reported finding the bodies of Shane Clements, 41, of Altoona, and David Mikell, 34, of Umatilla. The sheriff’s office claims that the men’s deaths were not the result of random acts of violence and that the people of interest do not reside in the house where the guys were discovered dead. Deputies claimed they had identified two people of interest, a man and a woman, who were found in Ormond Beach on Friday afternoon. Despite this, no arrests have been made in relation to the tragic shooting.
According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, one of the suspects, identified as Roger Myles Gilbert of Alabama, was jailed in Volusia County in connection with unrelated crimes following “an incident with Ormond Beach police officers.” At this moment, the identity of the second potential suspect is unknown.
