ADAMS COUNTY, Colorado (KDVR) – Adams County, Colorado During the early hours of Saturday morning, deputies from the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a shooting that had taken place outside of a house party. As a result of the incident, one person was killed and seven others were injured.
Reports of shots being fired outside of a property in the block of 900 Dakin Street came in about 3 a.m. on Saturday, according to investigators with the ACSO. When first responders arrived at the scene, they located many patients who needed to be transferred to a local hospital.
One of the people who had been shot was pronounced dead shortly after they arrived at the hospital.
The inquiry has recently been taken over by the Office of the District Attorney for Colorado’s 17th Judicial District.
In a tweet, ACSO said that “because of the sensitivity of the case, the amount of information we continue to collect, and safeguarding the victims involved,” they were unable to comment further on the investigation. “We will give information whenever we are able to, but please be aware that the schedule will be prolonged.”
As the investigation proceeds, residents have been urged to stay away from the area around the intersection of Greenwood Boulevard and Dakin Street. The incident occurred in the Sherrelwood neighbourhood of unincorporated Adams County during the shooting.
The ACSO is now looking for the car that was captured in this image. They think that the suspect may have been located in this car, which is described as a dark blue Chevrolet Tahoe from the early 2000s.
