72-Year-Old Titusville Woman Missing Under Suspicious Circumstances; Burned Vehicle Found, Suspect Arrested

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Authorities are intensifying their search for Jesse D. Kirk, a 72-year-old woman reported missing under highly suspicious circumstances. Kirk was last seen on the morning of March 4, 2025, when she failed to meet a friend for their routine walk along South Washington Avenue, prompting immediate concern.

Discovery of Burned Vehicle

Later that day, Kirk’s vehicle was discovered burned near the intersection of State Road 50 and State Road 520 in Orange County. The condition and location of the vehicle have heightened fears for her safety.

Arrest of Suspect with Recent Burns

During the investigation, detectives encountered 35-year-old David Armstrong Barber near Kirk’s condominium. Barber, identified as the estranged boyfriend of one of Kirk’s relatives, was arrested for loitering and prowling. Notably, Barber had recent significant burns on his body, raising further suspicion.

Court records reveal that Kirk’s niece had previously sought a protective injunction against Barber, alleging stalking. A hearing for this injunction was scheduled for later this month.

Ongoing Investigation

The Titusville Police Department, with assistance from the FBI and the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, is actively investigating Kirk’s disappearance. Authorities have labeled the case as “highly suspicious” and consider Kirk a missing and endangered adult.
