Deavan Clegg, a former 90 Day Fiancé celebrity, recently broke the heartbreaking news to her fans that her three-year-old son Taeyang is presently battling cancer. The announcement sparked an outpouring of sympathy from the show’s audience, many of whom contributed to a GoFundMe donation page and other fundraising initiatives Deavan posted. Others questioned why the reality star was requesting money right now, and Deavan responded.
During a recent live Instagram session, Deavan Clegg answered some inquiries from followers. She had just recently resolved her legal battle with her ex-husband Jihoon Lee for custody of Taeyang (via TrueCrime Jankie). She reaffirmed what she had previously said in response to fans’ questions concerning Jihoon and his family’s role in Taeyang’s life, saying that they haven’t made any recent attempts to contact him. Deavan once more argued to fans who were accusing her of hiding Taeyang from her ex and his family that it was because of the conflict with Jihoon that she is now raising money for Taeyang’s medical care.

Deavan Clegg appeared to clarify that the earnings from her work on 90 Day Fiancé and its spinoffs went directly into her battle for Taeyang’s custody after she separated from Jihoon Lee. During her reply, she made a su Nbtle dig at her ex, mentioning the crowdfunding account he had created for his own legal representation during the custody proceedings. Although Lee hasn’t updated his social media accounts since late May, his Instagram account is now completely empty of any images of Taeyang and Deavan. He doesn’t show any indication of how much he is aware of his son’s illness.
Fans have so far contributed to Deavan Clegg’s efforts to treat Taeyang’s B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. After just four days of donations, she recently updated her crowdfunding campaign:

Since that time, the GoFundMe campaign has raised over $20k, but it is still shy of the $50k target they hope to achieve for treatment. Taeyang is in the middle of a two-year treatment procedure, which has a high success record of complete recovery within five years, according to the campaign, which was started by Deavan’s mother Elicia. To put it simply, they have a difficult road ahead of them and could appreciate all the assistance offered over the coming several years.
On Sundays at 8:00 p.m. ET, TLC broadcasts 90 Day Fiancé. Though HBO Max subscribers will ultimately have access to those episodes, Deavan Clegg’s episodes are already available on Discovery+ for anyone who want to explore her story.
