Florida’s OAKLAND PARK – In Broward County, an accident with fatalities is being investigated. Along West Oakland Park Boulevard and NW Ninth Avenue, it happened on Sunday around six in the morning. Police in Fort Lauderdale says they were called to the 2500 block of Mercedes Drive in relation to an occupied home burglary. At least an hour had passed before the crash.
Three vehicles had been stolen, according to an investigation conducted by the responding officers, the police stated. Just before 5 a.m., FLPD officers found one of the stolen cars, a white Mercedes sedan, near the 900 block of Oakland Park Boulevard. There then proceeded a brief chase, according to the authorities. A multi-vehicle crash marked the conclusion of the chase. Six people were sent quickly to a hospital nearby, and two ladies and one guy were identified as trauma alerts.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office reports that a woman hurt in the collision was declared dead at the hospital. Six individuals were harmed in the collision. One of the victims’ brothers, who were present, revealed to Local 10 News that his sister was expecting. Edras Lopez Esteban stated, “I worry about her because she’s pregnant and due next week. “I’m not sure if she’s alright or not.”
Two suspects who the police claimed to be minors fled the scene of the collision but were later found and arrested. Gary Striggles, a witness, stated, “I heard the crash.” “The guy leaped out and tried to run, and he made it right there,” someone said. “The police were already there and over there.” For medical attention, the suspects were brought to a hospital. The crash occurred under the jurisdiction of the BSO, thus their traffic homicide squad is looking into it.
