According to the authorities, sheriff’s officers pulled up a driver after they clocked him speeding 130 mph on Sheridan Road in Beach Park while he was under alcohol. They then detained the driver. A deputy sheriff was out on patrol on Sheridan Road and Wadsworth Road in Beach Park at approximately 1:30 in the am on Sunday.
According to Deputy Chief Christopher Covelli of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy made a remark about seeing a blue Honda sedan moving at a high rate of speed on Sheridan Road in the direction of southbound traffic. When the deputy turned on his radar, he saw that the suspect was going 130 miles per hour in a zone where the speed limit was 40.

A traffic stop was made after the deputy was finally able to catch up with the vehicle and carry out his duties. According to Covelli, the deputy started a conversation with the driver, who was later determined to be Kyle C. Kozina, 26, who lives in the 37100 block of North Sheridan Road in Beach Park.
According to what Covelli said, the deputy saw that Kozina’s speech was slurred and that he smelled like alcohol. After conducting an investigation into possible drunk driving, the deputy found that Kozina was operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
Kozina was taken into custody and charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated speeding, and dangerous driving after an investigation. Kozina was allowed to leave jail on his own personal recognizance after posting a bond of $3,000. On November 30, Kozina is expected to show up for her court appearance.
