UPDATE: Silver Dollar City issued a message on Twitter informing followers that the Frisco Silver Dollar Line Steam Train derailed from the track, resulting in the ambulance transport of six visitors and one staff to nearby hospitals. The Division of Fire Safety in Missouri tweeted that it would be looking into the derailment.

Director of Stone County’s Office of Emergency Management Tom Martin confirmed the train-related incident with our team members there. According to Martin, 3–4 persons were sent by ambulance to hospitals, but no one was in danger of losing their lives.
Martin claimed that the train was almost completely filled and that the state Fire Marshal had been informed. At this moment, investigators are trying to determine what led to the derailment. At approximately 6:50 p.m., our OzarksFirst photographer reported that the Stone County Sheriff’s Office, Southern Stone County Fire Protection District, MSHP, and at least a dozen Mercy ambulances were on the site.
Anchor for KOLR10 Wednesday, Bailey Strohl communicated with a train passenger. This traveler was in the train’s second car from the rear. The passenger claimed that when the train was tipped, her husband observed that their car’s wheels were silver rather than black, and they subsequently heard the train dragging.

According to her, the vehicles in front of them and the one they were driving in were entirely on their sides, and the occupants had to break windows to exit. The passenger reported that a nearby individual had lower back problems and was brought to the hospital in an ambulance for safety.
She also mentioned a woman who had been bleeding after having her glasses crush her face. The traveler claimed that a young child who had been so eager to ride the train had now decided not to do so anymore. We will post updates as they become available because this news is breaking.
