Around 10:30 p.m., a home on Heritage Club Drive in Hillsborough County was reportedly the location of gunfire, as reported by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Two young children, one aged 5 years old and the other aged 8 years old, were discovered at the scene of the accident and taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. According to the deputies, the child, who was 5 years old, was pronounced dead.
The child, who is 8 years old, is in serious condition. The shooting is still under investigation. According to a statement released by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, “At this time, all those thought to be involved in this event are accounted for, and the investigation continues ongoing.”
