After a collision involving two lorries on the A13 near Orsett, two persons have been taken by ambulance to the hospital. An individual who had become trapped during the crash needed to be rescued by firefighters.

A multi-vehicle accident reportedly occurred close to Grays this morning, October 19, at around 6 a.m. Emergency services were dispatched to south Essex. As the rush hour approached, cars on the A13 in the direction of London had to wait in line. Due to the congestion, local roads were hampered, and some witnesses informed EssexLive that they had been at a standstill for well over an hour.

Firefighters were alerted to reports of a road traffic incident on the A13 this morning, an Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson informed EssexLive. When crews arrived, they found that there had been a collision involving two large goods vehicles. “One of the cars had a man stuck inside. After putting in a lot of effort to free the man, firefighters turned him over to the East of England Ambulance Service.

A representative for the Ambulance Service continued, “We were called to the A13 at Orsett at around 6 am today after receiving reports of a collision. The hazardous area response team, a car from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance, two ambulances, an ambulance officer, and all of the above were present. Two individuals were treated on the spot by crews before being sent to Basildon and Thurrock Hospital for more evaluation and care.
