Abby Sterling’s Early Life
The daughter of Paula Ann Brindza Sterling and Kyle Moye Sterling Sr., Abby Sterling was born on May 18, 1996, in Beaumont, Texas. She received the titles of Miss Westbrook and Homecoming Queen during her time at West Brook High School, where she played varsity softball.
Abby, a star third baseman, is the only four-time all-district athlete in team sports at West Brook, where she competed for four years. The Houston-based Hit Away Gold select squad, on which she also played, benefited from her skills.
After graduating from high school, Abby received a full scholarship to play softball for three years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She was a key member of three Sun Belt Conference championship teams and was named an Academic All-American by the conference twice during her tenure there.
Her degree from Louisiana College is a Bachelor of Communications with a Public Relations concentration, which she earned in 2019. After finishing college, Abby began her coaching career as the strength and conditioning coach at the University of Arkansas Rich Mountain in Mena.
