Adoption fees will be waived at the Lake County Animal Shelter during ‘Adopt a Shelter Pet Weekend.’

The Lake County Animal Shelter is the place to look if you want to assist a fuzzy face in finding its fur-ever home over the weekend.

When the Lake County Animal Shelter runs its “Adopt-A-Shelter-Pet Weekend” adoption promotion from Friday to Sunday, adoption fees will be waived for all animals.

The event is being held in conjunction with National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day, which takes place on April 30.

The shelter can be found at 12280 County Road 448 in Tavares, Florida.

From 12 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 12 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, the restaurant is open. Wednesdays and holidays are the only days the shelter is closed.

Spaying or neutering services, initial vaccinations, a microchip, a personalized ID tag, and a “lifetime of love” will be included in adoptions, according to officials.

In a statement, Whitney Boylston, director of the Lake County Animal Shelter, said, “We encourage everyone to come out and meet our pets who are in desperate need of loving homes.”
