Following an increase in antisemitic occurrences in the Los Angeles region over the weekend, celebrities including Khloé Kardashian, Reese Witherspoon, and Amy Schumer are among those showing support for Jews.
The response to Jessica Seinfeld’s Instagram post on Sunday came in response to statements made earlier this month by Kanye West, who declared he wanted to “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE” in now-deleted social media posts.

I support my Jewish friends and the Jewish people, Seinfeld, 51, said alongside a graphic in his post, adding, “If you don’t know what to say, simply say this in your feed.”
Late on Sunday, Kardashian re-posted the phrases across her social media accounts, and Witherspoon commented on Twitter.
“Any sort of anti-Semitism is abhorrent. in person. Online. Where doesn’t matter. It’s inappropriate because it’s hateful “On Sunday, the Oscar winner tweeted. She then posted her thoughts to her Instagram Stories. “I fully comprehend the concerns for their families that my Jewish friends and coworkers may be experiencing. It’s a pretty scary situation right now.”
Anti-semitism in any form is deplorable. In person. Online. Doesn’t matter where. It’s hate and it’s unacceptable.

One day before, antisemitic signs and the slogan “Kanye is right about the Jews” were displayed on banners that were flown above a 405 Freeway overpass.
Other white nationalist posters have reportedly surfaced on 101 Freeway overpasses in Ventura County numerous times this year, according to KTLA. All of the action is a result of an increase of antisemitic animosity.
According to the Anti-Defamation League, such crimes reached an all-time high last year with 2,717 assault, harassment, and vandalism reports and an increase of 61% in attacks against synagogues and Jewish community centres.
Schumer gave context for the recent events on Sunday while urging followers to pay attention.
“Do you realise what the Jewish community is worried would result from this? One in two persons are unaware that the Holocaust occurred. Lie down. #neveragain “She tweeted something.
John Legend, Lizzo, Jack Antonoff, Howard Stern, and Michael Rapaport were just a few of the famous people that spoke out against Kanye West’s offensive remarks earlier this month.

While not naming his former friend specifically, Legend made a veiled reference to the remarks on Twitter by adding, “Weird how all these ‘free, independent thinkers’ constantly arrive at the same old anti blackness and anti semitism.”
Rapaport, meanwhile, sent a brief video clip to Twitter in which he criticised West’s remarks and labelled them “inappropriate.”
