After Alec and Hilaria married in 2012, they found out they were expecting in February 2013. Seven months later, they had their first child. On August 23, 2013, Carmen was born to Hilaria.

Rafael, her first son and second child was born to Hilaria on June 17, 2015. In January of that year, the couple shared a picture of their growing family on the beach, including Hilaria’s pregnant belly, to let Carmen’s friends and family know that she would have a brother or sister.

Six months after Hilaria had Edu, Carmen got the little sister she had always wanted. On February 25, 2021, their sixth child was born through a surrogate. Mara Luca Victoria, who goes by the nickname Luca, made her Instagram debut in a close-up photo posted by Hilaria with a touching caption.
