A correction with a different guy labelled as the suspect was published in a different bulletin and on social media a few hours later. According to a Missouri City Police Department representative, that guy has also been eliminated after going to the police station on his own to clear his reputation. The older of the two men was 21, while the younger was a 28-year-old. They have the exact same name.
Imani resides with her grandma, who asserted that she thinks the young woman departed with a man she met online. The grandmother claimed that Imani climbed out of the second-story window overnight using bed linens, leaving behind neither her phone nor any personal things. According to family members, the girl also escaped on July 9. Through “Find My Phone,” they were able to locate her. She was reportedly dating an older man at the time as well.
