In 2019, he became the first male boxer of Mexican heritage to win a world heavyweight championship. According to ESPN’s rankings as of October 2021, he is the fifth-best current heavyweight in the world. Meanwhile, the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and BoxRec place him sixth, and The Ring magazine ranks him seventh.

Andy Ruiz’s Early Life And Career

On March 28, 2009, in the Plaza de Toros in Tijuana, Baja, California, Mexico, a 19-year-old Ruiz made his professional debut in a four-round contest against Miguel Ramirez. The bout ended in the first round with a knockout victory for Ruiz (KO). After three months, Ruiz returned to the same venue to fight again, and in the first round of their rematch, he knocked Ross Brantley down three times, resulting in a first-round technical knockout and a victory for Ruiz (TKO).

Following an eight-month layoff, Ruiz returned to the boxing ring in February 2010 and defeated Juan Luis Lopez Alcaraz in a four-round unanimous decision. A month later, Ruiz made his debut in America, knocking out Luke Vaughn in the first round at the Gaylord Hotel in Texas. In 2010, Ruiz fought three more times, all of them in the United States. He knocked out Miles Kelly, won a unanimous decision against Raymond Lopez, and stopped Francisco Diaz in the first round.

After defeating Kelsey Arnold via third-round knockout on February 5, 2011, Ruiz went on to win a 59-55, 59-55, and 60-54 unanimous decision over Alvaro Morales the same month. Ruiz won a six-round unanimous decision over Angel Herrera in April of 2011. On July 2nd, Ruiz fought Villi Bloomfield at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, and won through a fourth-round technical knockout.  On December 7, he returned to the Casino and won by technical knockout over Elijah McCall (11-1-1, 10 KOs), the son of former world champion Oliver McCall. When McCall quit trying to defend himself, referee Kenny Bayless waved it off. This battle was a showcase for Ruiz’s lightning-fast hands.

After eight rounds, Ruiz defeated Homero Fonseca on March 23, 2012. It was a unanimous 80-72 decision from all three judges. At the Home Depot Center in Carson, California, in July, Ruiz faced off against Jonte Willis (8-3-1, 3 KOs). Willis’s record before facing Denis Bakhtov was 1-3-1 across five bouts. One of those defeats came by a split decision three months earlier (33–7). In round five, Ruiz knocked Willis out with a short right hand, and in round eight, after a succession of unanswered punches, the fight was stopped by referee Wayne Hedgpeth. In this case, Donaire and Mathebula were the main events.

Andy’s Diet Plan

When Andy committed to getting healthier, he immediately cut back on the number of meals they were eating. He gave up eating fatty foods and snacks. When given a choice, Andy’s preference was almost always for the salad. Andy gave up eating altogether so that he wouldn’t consume an excessive amount of sugar. Instead of drinking whiskey, he chose to consume fruit juice as his intoxicant of choice.

Andy Ruiz is a notable figure born on September 11, 1989, in Imperial Valley, California. Andy’s rise to fame was due entirely to his boxing prowess and the various titles he won by defeating other fighters. His parents came to the United States from Mexico. Hence he has Mexican ancestry. Andy Ruiz used to be a baseball fan, but now he’s more into boxing. He is now widely recognized for his efforts to transform his hobby into a profession. He was also known as the Destroyer because of his destructive tendencies as a child.

To be a fighter, Andy Ruiz (@andy destroyer13) had to carry some poundage, but he was overweight. Andy’s original weight of 283 kg made him the second-heaviest reigning heavyweight champion. Andy’s heft helped him win the championship, but it also had negative consequences. He was 283 pounds, which brought him several health problems and diseases, but his muscles were strong enough because he was committed to working out regularly. Andy’s dramatic weight drop drew much attention since it contrasted sharply with his appearance in the ring.

Many on Reddit may have speculated that Andy lost weight by adhering to a diet or other weight-loss plan; however, is this the case? No. Andy’s weight reduction is because he recently had knee surgery. While we can only speculate, we believe that Andy Ruiz’s intense training regimen or his bouts in the ring may have led to knee issues that ultimately necessitated surgery.

Andy’s body underwent dramatic changes and weight loss after his operation. For instance, it has been said that he dropped 30 pounds. The crowd said they did not think that Andy was the same fighter that knocked out Anthony Joshua in his current physical form. Andy may have lost some bulk, but he’s as strong as ever in the ring, and his supporters love and support him just as much as they did before.
