Annie Wersching, who was best known for her roles on the TV shows 24, Bosch, and Timeless, died early this morning from cancer, her publicist told Deadline. She turned 45.
Wersching kept working even after she was told she would die in 2020. She had important parts in Star Trek: Picard, Season 2, as the Borg queen, and The Rookie. She also did Tess’s voice in the video game The Last of Us, which HBO turned into a TV show.
The actor Stephen Full, who is married to Wersching, made a statement. “Today, there is a huge hole in the heart of this family. But she gave us what we needed to do it. She saw magic in the smallest things. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us that adventure doesn’t come to you. “Go look for it. It’s all over.’ And we’ll find it.

“As I drove our boys, the true loves of her life, down the winding driveway and street, she would yell BYE! until we were out of earshot and into the world. I can still hear it ringing. Bye my Buddie. ‘I love you little family…’ “
Jon Cassar, who was the show’s director and executive producer, also said something nice.
“My heart is broken in more pieces than I can count. Annie came into my world with an open heart and a contagious smile. Brandishing such talent, she took my breath away. Annie became more than a workmate, she became a real friend to me, my family and every cast and crew member that worked with her. She’ll be truly missed by them and the fans she always found time to interact with. Annie you’ll be missed, you left your mark, and we’re all the better for it.”
Wersching’s parents, Sandy and Frank, raised him in St. Louis. Amelia Joffe on General Hospital was her first big role. She then played Renee Walker in 24’s Seasons 7 and 8. Wersching also had major roles in The Vampire Diaries, Runaways, Extant, Timeless, Bosch, and The Rookie.
One of her last parts was in Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard, which was exactly 20 years after she first appeared on screen in an episode of Star Trek: Enterprise. Victims include her husband and children Freddie, 12; Ozzie, and Archie, 4.
