Google I/O, the company’s annual developer conference, begins on May 11th. We’ll probably hear a lot about Android 13, the Pixel 6a, and the much-anticipated Google Pixel Watch. Apple’s time will come on June 6th, when the WWDC 2022 developer conference will begin. The iPhone’s forthcoming post-notch UI, which is scheduled to debut on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, will be the centerpiece of WWDC.
While the WWDC is being live-streamed, Apple has invited a select group of developers to an “all-day” event at Apple Park on June 6th. According to Apple, “Meet up with fellow developers to watch the keynote and Platforms State of the Union movies alongside Apple engineers and experts, learn about the all-new Developer Center, and more. We’re looking forward to meeting in person.”

“This celebration kicks off an incredible week of workshops, laboratories, and lounges – all online and with more activities than ever before,” Apple continues. Members of the Apple Developer Program, the Apple Developer Enterprise Program, and 2022 Swift Student Challenge entrants are all welcome to attend WWDC 2022. Apple will use a random selection technique to distribute non-transferable invitations.

If you do receive an invitation to attend WWDC in person, keep in mind that you must follow Apple’s health and safety regulations, which take into account the most recent recommendations from public health authorities regarding COVID-19.
If you want one of these unique invites, you’ll need to show Apple confirmation of a negative COVID test no later than three days before the event on June 6th. While masks are currently optional, Apple will provide guests with the most up-to-date criteria before the event. The special event on June 6th will last all day, and developers will be able to see Apple’s new Developer Center on the Apple Park property.
