Nearly a year after the terrible murder of Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan, authorities are getting ready to arrest the case, according to First Coast News.
In Jacksonville Beach, 33-year-old Jared Bridegan was ambushed and shot to death on the side of the road. The father of four was driving his 2-year-old daughter Bexley back to St. Augustine after dropping off his 10-year-old twins at his ex-wife’s house.
According to police, he was ambushed and shot in front of his child while pulling over to the side of the road to pick up a tire left in the middle of the street. To lure Bridegan into the ambush, investigators believe the tire was placed in the road. A blue Ford F-150 pickup truck seen nearby around the time of the murder was mentioned in their appeal to the public.

Bexley, a second kid, and the twins were shared by Bridegan and his ex-wife, Shanna Gardner-Fernandez. In 2016, Gardner-Fernandez, 35, and Bridegan were divorced.
Gardner-Fernandez addressed claims that she asked a tattoo parlor worker in 2015 if he knew someone who would “shut… up” her ex-husband in a June 2022 interview with the Florida Times-Union. She acknowledged saying it but denied attempting to hurt her ex-husband, adding that such statements are joint during “bitter” divorces.
She admitted, “Our relationship was pretty complicated and remained pretty complicated.” Law enforcement sources close to the investigation confirmed to First Coast that they are prepared to make an arrest and to announce a break in the case as soon as Wednesday.
