Clermont, FL –
Cermont police have obtained an arrest warrant for a Tavares man they said flashed a woman July 15 in the parking lot of the BJ’s Wholesale Club on U.S. Highway 27.
Jon Paul Navarro, 32, will be charged with one count of exposing himself, Sgt. Shane Strickland said Friday.
“The victim was loading groceries in her car, when Mr. Navarro pulled up behind her,” he said.
Navarro was driving a four-door Hyundai Sonata and “asked her for directions to Walmart,” Strickland said. “When she turned to face him” she saw that he was exposed.
The woman took down his tag number and officers were later able to identify Navarro through a photo lineup.
Clermont police believe he could be involved in other flashing cases.
A man also exposed himself to a woman May 15 in the parking lot of Target on State Road 50. The following day an employee of the Starbucks inside Target was outside the store when she was stopped by a motorist who asked her for directions and saw that his zipper was undone.
“As of right now, we can’t tie this guy to the May cases,” Strickland said.
Another man flashed an employee of McDonald’s on U.S. 27 in May, but Clermont police believe that’s not Navarro because the suspect’s skin color was different.
