Authorities in the Florida Keys Respond to a Boat Carrying More Than 100 Migrants. After a migrant boat from Haiti with more than 100 individuals on board attempted to make landfall near Islamorada Monday night, numerous agencies responded.

According to the U.S. Coast Guard, about 100 individuals were rescued earlier in the day amid seas of six to ten feet. There were several kids onboard.

After dark, several passengers tried to wade to shore after jumping from the boat, but according to the authorities, the current washed many of them under the Whale Harbor Bridge.
