The first season of Bachelor in Paradise, an American reality competition series in which contestants face elimination, began on ABC on August 4, 2014. Similar to the famous American series The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, this one is a spin-off. The show follows contestants from both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette as they venture to a remote Mexican paradise for filming. Chris Harrison was the initial host of the show.
ABC ended the Bachelor Pad after three seasons in March of 2013. Rejected contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette are sequestered in a tropical paradise, much like the setting of Bachelor Pad. Tulum, Mexico served as the setting for the inaugural season. Filming for the show began at Playa Escondida in Sayulita, Mexico, in season two.

What, exactly, makes getting “engaged” so special? Pronounce the word “fiancee” aloud. I know; it’s out there. Now, yell “boyfriend” at you. How satisfying is that? Shout out, “My wife!” OH! SUCH HYSTERIA! A FEELING OF PASSION! This is where the conflict lies. In a crowded Crate & Barrel, being able to say “my wife” is the stuff of dreams, but being the one who yells “my fiancé” is the stuff of nightmares.
Understand that we celebrate your engagement with you. The abnormal emphasis on getting ENGAGED weighed down the entire Bachelor in Paradise season finale. Come on, you guys. Getting someone to commit to an exclusive relationship is a tremendous achievement in this day and age when these idiots are practically hitting up anybody who has ever been on a dating reality program on their Google+ profiles.
More couples would enter the season finale in past years, and some would simply decide to meet for coffee in a place halfway between their hometowns after the show ended. Oh, and that was quite pleasant! It was a perfect depiction of the excitement one feels upon learning that their friend is seeing a “hot guy” and that they are posting images of themselves together.
Caroline and Jeff went apple picking; very sweet! It’s adorable. Right now, I’m thinking whether Bachelor in Paradise just got hooked on having babies. Because the Bachelor Cinematic Universe didn’t want to concede defeat after a season in which its Bachelorette ended up in a severe relationship with Dancing With the Stars.
Even if we have to corner them on the beach and sever their Achilles tendons to force them to their knees, these scumbags will be engaged. Ultimately, then, what do we have? Bachelor in Paradise tries to create drama by encouraging hopelessly unsuitable couples to get engaged and by allowing Hannah to talk without Dylan’s tongue in her mouth. Oh, my goodness, Chris B. and Clay are portrayed so poorly here.
