Filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, together with actors Will Smith and Doug Belgrad, are behind the camera for the upcoming action comedy Bad Boys 4. This film follows the first Bad Boys, released in 1995, and its sequel, Bad Boys II, released in 2003. The upcoming fourth film in the series is scheduled for release on June 2, 2017, and it will presumably start-up where the other movies left off.
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, who previously played detectives Mike Lowrey, and Marcus Burnett, are set to reprise their roles in the film. With Smith and Lawrence back in the cast and the acclaimed directing team intact, Bad Boys 4 has all the makings of a massive commercial success.

Bad Boys 4 Release Date: The release date for Bad Boys 4 has not yet been determined. However, any new information will be reflected here as soon as it becomes available. On January 31, Smith and Lawrence took to Instagram to share a video announcing they would return for the film’s follow-up.

“I’ve got some news to drop. “Y’all best stop scrolling,” he yells as the opening bars of “Shake Ya Tailfeather” from the Bad Boys II soundtrack begin to play. I wish I could see what I’m about to show you with fresh eyes. Very quickly, he arrives at Lawrence’s house and announces they’re working on a fourth film. It’s high time! “Lawrence shouts!” Chris Bremner will pen the story, while directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will return. The film will have Jerry Bruckheimer as a producer as well.
Bad Boys 4 Plot
This lawsuit will undoubtedly involve Armando, but the stinger provides us with no other information. Since Armando was raised by the wife of a vicious drug lord to become an assassin for a Mexican cartel, he likely has inside information on a wide variety of international criminal enterprises.
Bad Boys 4 could therefore feature Lowrey and Burnett dealing with a new, shady organization with which Armando is at least somewhat familiar as it attempts to establish a foothold in Miami. However, IMDB may provide us with additional information about the plot of Bad Boys 4.
There was a brief storyline synopsis for the film on the website before it was officially announced, which had been written around the time those initial announcements were made in 2015. However, given that Bad Boys for Life co-writer Chris Bremner has already been tapped to pen the fourth installment, it’s possible that the plot element of the “highly specialized police unit” stymying Burnett and Lowrey’s plans could still make it into the film. The page has since been updated with a generic “Plot unknown” tag.
Who is in the Cast for ‘Bad Boys 4’?
It has been confirmed that Will and Martin will be returning to their roles as Mike and Martin from the first Bad Guys in the fourth installment (and if they don’t say “bad boys for life” at least three times, we’ll have to have a serious talk with them). Production on Bad Boys, 4 has just begun. However, the film’s remaining cast members have yet to be announced.
According to a report in Variety, Jerry Bruckheimer is working as a producer on Bad Boys 4. For Bad Boys 4, directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are returning. (Adil and Bilall were also the directors of the doomed Batgirl film, which Warner Bros. canceled after production was finished.) Another familiar face wrote the screenplay for Bad Boys 4 the franchise. The screenplay for Bad Boys 4 will be written by Chris Bremner, who previously penned the script for Bad Boys for Life.
Bad Boys 4 might begin filming later this year or in early 2024 if the project is still in its early stages of production. Though it would be a long wait, putting off the release of Bad Boys 4 until 2025 would allow it to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the first film. (Holy cow, has it been that long? (Do you young’uns feel your age now?) Despite our lighthearted anticipation, we cannot wait for Bad Boys 4! When we have more information on the movie, we will share it with you.
