He described the circumstances that led to the presumed deaths of the missing crew members, including the length of the bridge and the extremely cold water. Efron said, “It doesn’t take very long for someone to feel the effects of the water’s temperature.”
Victims Of Baltimore Bridge Collapse
There has been very little information released on the victims and survivors. A fellow construction worker named Jesús Campos revealed to the Baltimore Banner that he was connected to the missing team and that they were from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.
On Tuesday afternoon, Phylicia Porter, a Baltimore City council member, broke the heartbreaking news that a body had been found. The Coast Guard, who are in charge of the search work, points out that there isn’t any official confirmation of this news.
Furthermore, two injured people were able to recover thanks to their efforts; one of them was admitted to the Cowley Shock Trauma Center and later discharged.
The incident happened as the six people were working on fixing cracks and holes on the bridge that was still under construction. A collision occurred between the ship, measuring 985 feet in length, and the Patapsco River bridge, which is located 185 feet above the Patapsco River at its highest point.
According to their foreign ministry, two relatively young men from Guatemala who worked for a company for 15 years are on the list of people who are presumed to be dead, along with Miguel Luna, a 15-year employee of the construction company.
Governor Wes Moore has proclaimed a state of emergency for the state of Maryland. Additionally, Moore has conveyed the state’s close cooperation with US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is taking part in the ongoing inquiry into this unfortunate incident.
