Big Meech Release Date: Black Mafia Family (BMF) co-founder Big Meech may seek a sentencing reduction during his 30-year prison term. More than that, he and his legal team requested a three-year reduction, the same one he had obtained in 2021, which would have postponed his release from May 2031 to May 2028.
From the late 90s until 2007, Meech amassed approximately $270 million in profits from the narcotics trade; as a result, he was convicted of money laundering and operating a national crime enterprise. A reevaluation of the drug and chemical quantities across all charges led to his prior decrease.
In addition, the Burned Alive project’s Brittany K. Barnett and Lil Meech’s father now believe they deserve more. They asked for a three-year reduction in Big Meech’s sentence, which, if granted, would put his release date in May of 2025.
Furthermore, they referenced U.S.C. Section 18 582(c)(2) in their argument, which indicates that a judge has the discretion to decrease a sentence if sentencing guidelines for their offenses were subsequently more lenient.
This goes hand in hand with a change that will be implemented in April 2023 and will remove certain “criminal history status points” for certain individuals who have a criminal record.
It appears that this removes the “status points” that are applied to a person’s sentence; according to Barnett, this alteration would deprive the ex-crime lord of at least two points. They think he is eligible for another reduction under the U.S.C. since this law took effect in November of 2023.
Big Meech has transformed his public persona, charitable work, and outlook on life while incarcerated. For instance, he plans to rename BMF as “Build More Families” in the hopes of bringing about positive change and has donated to numerous community charity activities.
In a statement made by his attorney, it was noted that the Federal Bureau of Prisons (B.O.P.) personnel had noted that Flenory had shown a commitment to maintaining his fitness and had volunteered to teach exercise sessions to other prisoners.
“He also seems to [have] a positive impact on the mental health of other inmates and leads regular focus groups out of various self-help books.” The court’s leniency toward the “Power” critic’s petition will be revealed soon.
