The official cause of his death is still unclear. Miller’s manager released a statement on Sunday, the day the actor’s 44th birthday would have been.
“The actor was struggling with manic depression when he died,” the statement reads.
The Oklahoma native moved to Texas as a child and eventually graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a film degree.
After finishing college, he relocated to Los Angeles. Sparer said in his obituary, “Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles. While working in the mailroom of a prominent entertainment management/production company, he decided, after encouragement (a dare) from friends, to pursue a career as an actor,”.
Miller began acting after working as a model and in commercials. His job as Richie Novak on “All My Children” followed. Following his success on “The Young and the Restless,” where he played Billy Abbott from 2008 to 2014, he went on to establish himself as a soap opera star on “General Hospital,” where he played Jason Morgan and Drew Cain from 2013 to 2019.
His performance in “The Young and the Restless” earned him three Daytime Emmy awards: one for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and two for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series respectively.
Miller has starring roles in a number of other television programs, such as “Suits,” “Ray Donovan,” and “Truth Be Told.” He made his final appearance on the TV show “NCIS” in the year 2022.
In addition to his job as an actor, he was also a successful businessman in the restaurant industry and owned a number of establishments in the Los Angeles area.
