After Barker’s death was announced, his longtime girlfriend Nancy Burnet sent a statement to ET.

Barker was previously married to Dorothy Gideon, his high school sweetheart, for 35 years. Gideon’s death from lung cancer in 1981 was a terrible loss. Barker never remarried after the breakup, and the couple had no children.
