A group of people living in the Americas around the time of Jesus’ death and resurrection was having a conversation when they “heard a voice as if it came out of heaven” and “see… where the noise originated. God the Father’s voice proclaimed, “Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well delighted, in whom I have honored my name—hear ye Him.”
They then “saw a Man descending from heaven, and he was clad in a white garment, and he came down and stood in the midst of them.” Resurrected Christ claims to be that man in 3 Nephi 11:3, 5, and 7. The events of season four of the “Book of Mormon Videos” series are currently occurring in anticipation of the premiere of the first episode in late 2022.2 This season will focus on the Savior’s visit to and ministry among people in the Western Hemisphere after his resurrection.

A brand new episode of Book of Mormon Videos, focusing on the Savior’s ministry in the Americas about two millennia ago, premiered on Sunday, October 2 at BookofMormonVideos.com, marking the start of the new season.
Blair Treu, the series’ lead director, remarked on set, “Something year we’re doing this like famous scripture, and I think all of us have felt an extra added a little bit weight because of what we’re… covering here.”
I’m sure there have been many late nights for the cast and crew. The question, “Is this going to be pleasing to our Father in Heaven?” keeps me awake till three in the morning. Are we carrying out the duties assigned to us? In other words, “that question is always kind of blazing in the forefront of our collective conscience as we work through these scenes,” he said.
Production workers built an outdoor set resembling a temple in the Book of Mormon land of “Bountiful” and other ancient structures near Springville, Utah, where the movies were shot. Together, the cast and crew of more than a thousand are striving to bring to life the Scriptures’ predictions and witnesses of the Messiah’s coming to the New World to meet and serve its inhabitants.
A quorum of the Twelve Apostles Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf and his wife Harriet stopped by the set to chat with the actors and crew. Elder Uchtdorf presides over the effort as head of the Church’s Priesthood and Family Executive Council. “For the devotion and expertise of those who are participating in this crucial Book of Mormon project,” Elder Uchtdorf said during their visit.

“As we convey the message of Jesus Christ over the world, we need to remember that people often prefer to learn by visual impressions and virtual means,” Elder Uchtdorf remarked. All across the world, missionaries and members are using Facebook, Instagram, and other forms of social media to reach out to individuals and share the good news of the gospel with them.
Priesthood and Family Executive Council members Elder Dale G. Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles and President Jean B. Bingham of the General Relief Society Presidency paid a visit to the scene with their spouses during a break in filming.
A quorum of the Twelve Apostles member Elder Dale G. Renlund remarked to the cast and crew, “It feels as though the ground is hallowed… because of what you show here.”
Additionally, Seventy Elder Kevin S. Hamilton and Young Women General President Bonnie H. Cordon paid a visit. Elder Kevin S. Hamilton, a General Authority Seventy and member of the Book of Mormon Visual Library Steering Committee, explained: “It is the message of Christ at the center of the Church, in the center of the gospel, really the center of the world.”
The world’s religious leaders expressed their appreciation to the production crew for their hard work and involvement in the project. It takes a lot of people to make this happen,” President Bingham stated. And for what reason?” To spread knowledge of the Book of Mormon and its transformative influence.
Additional scenes from the Book of Mormon’s 3 Nephi are also currently in production. He blessed and ministered to children (3 Nephi 17:11), healed the ill and afflicted (3 Nephi 17:7), and called 12 apostles to proclaim His gospel, just as Jesus Christ did for his believers in Jerusalem (3 Nephi 19:4).
One of the set decorators, Stephanie Batson, described the process as “quite a production,” adding that her team had arrived five weeks before filming to get everything ready. It took us a while, but we finally got here and planted all the plants around and did the dressing. That’s a tonne of work, especially considering how hot it is. The goal of these scripturally based movies is to strengthen the faith of Latter-day Saints and their friends in the Church.

New Zealander Anthony Butters, who plays the resurrected Jesus Christ, stated, “I’ve only done a few days, but it’s been a wonderful experience being with a cast and crew that are all here for one goal.” On the set, with the other actors and actresses watching, “it really just enables you to kind of view these stories that you’ve read all your life, to see them with fresh eyes,” he explained.
According to Butters, his hands and feet were fitted with homemade prosthetics to represent the wounds Jesus Christ sustained during His crucifixion. The 34-year-old actor said that while his physical training has been time-consuming and exhausting, he has received divine assistance in every other element of his preparation.
Basically, it’s just a lot of remembering the lines and trusting the Lord with the rest, as Butters put it. And that’s about all there is to it. Penny Johnson, a screenplay supervisor, expressed her desire that the film would teach viewers about their Savior and His love.
