Death of Brently Treadwell – Brently Dale Treadwell died in an automobile crash on September 20, 2022. There was a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County, and the two occupants, Brently and his grandfather were both reported dead.

According to accounts, the incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 85 at approximately 7:30 p.m. The grandpa, Kenneth Lee Henderson, 60, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, was declared dead at the scene, per the Spartanburg County Coroner’s Office.

The second victim, 9-year-old Brently Dale Treadwell from Inman, was brought to the hospital but later died. According to information provided by Spartanburg County School District 2, Treadwell is a fourth-grader at Sugar Ridge Elementary.

The principal of Brently’s elementary school, Sugar Ridge Elementary, Mandy Ehlich, paid homage to the 9-year-old by calling him a “lovely student” and “a one-of-a-kind buddy to everyone.” He remarked that Brentley “had a dazzling smile that would light up any room” and that the young man would occasionally break into song during lunch. All of his peers felt welcome in his group projects.

Mandy Ehlich, the principal of the school, said in a statement, “Brently Treadwell was an integral part of our Sugar Ridge Family. It’s safe to say that he was loved by all of his classmates and had friends for life.

He had a dazzling grin that could brighten any room and was known to break into song over lunch. He was the type of student that made sure everyone in the class was included. He made it his mission to make everyone he met feel welcome and appreciated. The world will be poorer without him.

As far as we can tell, Brently also played for the Carolina Blue Jays 10U team. Field General was his nickname around the team. According to a Facebook post made by team manager Brandon Harrold on September 24, 2022, the Carolina Blue Jays 10U will play their first game without “Field General” Brently Treadwell. It will be difficult to take the field without him, but Brently wouldn’t want it any other way, as Brandon Harrold put it.
