COLUMBUS, Ohio — On Tuesday, there was a collision on the east side of Columbus that claimed the life of one individual. Around twelve o’clock in the afternoon, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office received a report that the operator of a 2017 Peterbilt truck was driving west on the 7700 block of East Broad Street.
After that, the driver moved into the lane of traffic occupied by a 2015 Honda Civic, which caused it to veer off the road. The truck continued to go in a westerly direction until it went off the road on the north side and collided with a tree. According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the truck was found to be deceased at the scene of the accident.

Both occupants of the Honda were transported to Mount Carmel East Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries after the collision. The identity of the driver has not been made public at this time. The inquiry into the crash is ongoing.
