Buzz Aldrin, a former US astronaut, celebrated his 93rd birthday by getting married for the fourth time. Mr. Aldrin was one of the astronauts on the storied Apollo 11 space mission in 1969, and along with mission commander Neil Armstrong, he was among the first two astronauts to set foot on the moon.
According to the ex-pilot, he and his new wife, Anca Faur, were “excited as eloping teens.” He is one of just four living individuals who have set foot on the moon. Mr. Aldrin posted images from their weddings in Los Angeles on Twitter.

“On my 93rd birthday and the day I will be honoured by Living Legends of Aviation I am pleased to announce that my long-time love Dr Anca Faur and I have tied the knot,” he tweeted.
Dr. Faur, a 63-year-old executive vice president of Mr. Aldrin’s business, Buzz Aldrin Ventures, holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering. Around 600 million people watched Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin set foot on the moon for the first time as part of the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. At the time, it had the most prominent television audience ever.

Nearly instantly, Mr. Aldrin rose to prominence as one of the most well-known people on earth. The following months were a flurry of interviews, photo ops, and after-dinner speeches.
“I hadn’t thought that much of what would come afterward,” Mr Aldrin told the Los Angeles Times in 2001. “I was not that prepared or comfortable to be thrust into the public eye that much.”
Mr. Aldrin flew fighters on combat flights for the US Air Force during the Korean War before the infamous moon landing. He established the Human SpaceFlight Institute, a non-profit think tank, in 2018.
