Caylee Marie Anthony: Who Is She?
Caylee Marie Anthony (August 9, 2005 – June–December 2008) was a typical American child who lived in Orlando, Florida, with her mother Casey Marie Anthony, and her maternal grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony. On July 15, 2008, Cindy called 9-1-1 to report Caylee missing, noting that she hadn’t seen her in 31 days and that Casey’s car smelled like a dead body had been inside for some time. Before ultimately confessing she hadn’t seen Caylee in weeks, Cindy claimed Casey had offered her a number of answers about where Caylee was. Casey lied to detectives, telling them that Caylee had been abducted on June 9 by a nanny and that she had been looking for Caylee ever since because she was frightened to call the police.

Caylee Anthony’s Cause of Death
According to reports, during Casey’s trial, the prosecution claimed that Casey put her daughter under chloroform and then taped duct tape over Caylee’s mouth and nose to suffocate her. Caylee unexpectedly drowned in the family pool, according to Casey’s defense team, and her grandfather disposed of her body.
Investigators in Orlando, Florida, where Caylee and her mother were residing at the time, came across a bag of human remains in a wooded area in December 2008 that they ultimately determined to be Caylee’s. At the time, Caylee’s cause of death would be recorded as homicide by the doctor’s uncertain means, and the manner of death would be a homicide, according to Orange County medical examiner Dr. Jan Garavaglia.
Who killed Caylee Anthony?
Exactly what happened to Caylee is still unknown. Anthony initially told the police that she left her kid with a babysitter, Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, in her apartment. She then asserted that when she got to Caylee’s residence, nobody was there. A woman with the same name came forward in September 2008 and admitted to not knowing who Caylee or Anthony was, according to reports. The press reported that she was later exonerated of all charges. The source claims that forensic experts found traces of chloroform and signs of bodily decomposition in Anthony’s car trunk. A hair recovered in Anthony’s car trunk had “characteristics of apparent decomposition” and was “microscopically comparable” to hair strands discovered in Caylee’s hairbrush, according to FBI lab reports, but the report was unable to definitively determine that the hair belonged to Caylee.
In the docuseries, Casey, who had previously been charged with her daughter’s death, claimed her violent father, George, was truly to blame for Caylee’s death after being declared not guilty by a jury in 2011.
