A car caught fire on May 26 in the Dillard’s parking lot on Oviedo Mall Boulevard, sending three kids running to the hospital. According to investigators, Alicia Moore, 24, had parked her car, left the kids inside, and gone to Dillard’s.
According to the arrest report, Moore and a second unidentified male started to shoplift products while the employees of loss prevention were inside Dillard’s. Security kept an eye on them for around an hour.
According to the complaint, as Moore started to exit the business, she noticed that her car was on fire. Prior to leaving the business, according to the police, she dropped the stolen goods. One of the kids made an effort to exit the vehicle. The children were saved with the help of a shopper.

Multiple first-degree burns were being treated on the kids at the hospital. According to the police report, one girl “suffered several first-degree burns, particularly to her face and ears.” Moore is accused of severe child neglect.
According to the investigators, Moore is also being accused of arson because the car fire occurred while a criminal was being committed. During her initial court appearance on Friday, she entered a not-guilty plea to both charges.

In addition to the current case, Moore was also detained on outstanding warrants from other counties. She is wanted in Sumter County on warrants for petty theft and violence against a senior citizen. She was also charged with evading and attempting to avoid law police in Orange County while using sirens.
