Here we are talking about Charges Against a Utah Man for Putting a Razor to Another Passenger Throat in Flight, and Federal charges are being brought against a Utah man for allegedly using a razor blade to attack another passenger on a trip from New York City to Salt Lake City.
According to authorities, Syracuse, Utah, resident Merrill Darrell Fackrell, 41, was charged on Tuesday with assault with a dangerous weapon on or near an aircraft and carrying a gun on a flight.
Authorities claim that the incident occurred on Monday when Fackrell boarded a JetBlue flight at John F. Kennedy International Airport headed for Salt Lake City while hiding a straight-edge razor.

After boarding the aircraft, Fackrell took a window seat next to a married couple. According to the prosecution, he eventually turned to the woman sitting next to him and instructed her to pause her movie.
According to the complaint, Fackrell attempted to block the woman’s screen with his hand, drank “many alcoholic beverages,” according to officials, and then brought the razor close to her throat.
Later, the woman’s husband walked to the front of the plane to ask the flight attendant for assistance. The woman told NBC station KSL-TV, “he was going to get help because he realised something was extremely weird.”
“He didn’t intend to leave me alone to deal with a man brandishing a weapon,” I said. The flight attendants then secured the item. Later, the couple was pushed to the front of the aircraft. There were no reported injuries.
On Thursday, it was not immediately obvious how Fackrell managed to bring the razor on board. According to NBC News, Magistrate Judge Daphne A. Oberg of the U.S. District Court in Utah ordered that Fackrell be held on Wednesday.
