The internet is divided over Chelsea Handler’s joke about relishing life without kids. The 47-year-old stand-in host of The Daily Show joked in the comedy clip for the Comedy Central program that she could “go to my fav spot in Paris for a croissant” since she didn’t have any children to take care of.
The video, titled “A Day in the Life of a Childless Lady,” follows Handler as she goes about her everyday activities while narrating her outrageously exaggerated routine.
She begins, “I get up at six in the morning, realize I don’t have kids to send to school, so I take an edible, masturbate, and go back to sleep. I get ready for a busy day of doing whatever the f*** I feel like at 12:30 p.m.
Handler says, “Because I won’t be chasing a kid around the grocery store, I put on my most ridiculous and fashionable shoes.”
After that, she makes a joke about running to Paris for a croissant and says, “Since there are no shrieking children on the plane, I have plenty of time to meditate and become enlightened. My existence is weightless, and I have superhuman abilities.”

The text on Handler’s phone then reads, “Wanna f*** tonight?” as she “teleports back home” to prepare for a night out “with whichever handsome man” she met on the dating app Raya that day. She goes on to explain that she climbed Mount Everest for exercise and created a time machine to travel into the past and “kill Hitler.”

She adds, “And that’s a day in the life of a childless woman,” before saying, “It’s amazing what you can do when you have this much free time.”
The video, which was shared on social media on February 10, has amassed over 6.7 million views since Fox News analyst Tucker Carlson invited right-wing radio personality Jesse Kelly to discuss it on his show.
In her opening statement, Kelly claimed that “feminists like Chelsea Handler” had been “lied to by their culture forever” and that “everyone who’s ever seen a woman back up a vehicle knows it’s not true.”
“And [their] womb resembles a dried-up tumbleweed blowing down an old western town, and your Valentine’s date for the tenth year in a row is a 10-year-old copy of Magic Mike and a half-full bottle of Xanax, and you’re trying to pretend like you’re happy, but you’re not happy,” the man continued as Carlson listened in silence. While many others defended Handler’s act, some other conservative thinkers concurred.
“This self-serving, hedonistic, narcissistic woman will wonder when she’s 70 why she didn’t make better decisions when nobody wants her and she eventually dies alone,” Sara Gonzales of The Blaze tweeted.
Elijah Schaffer, a conservative commentator, added: “While it’s trying to be amusing, it comes out as a threat. It’s really terrible when a lady can’t claim any children as her own. Life alone.”
