With Creed III, the newest instalment in the Rocky spinoff series, it’s time to get back in the ring with Apollo Creed’s son Adonis “Donnie” Creed (Michael B. Jordan). The Creed films have revitalised the traditional boxing franchise for the twenty-first century, but with Creed III, Sylvester Stallone is formally leaving the franchise, giving Jordan an even bigger role.
The 2015 film Creed introduced us to Donnie and his struggle to be accepted as his father’s rightful heir, while Creed II rekindled the Creed vs. Drago rivalry that had its roots in Rocky IV. An entirely new opponent will be introduced in Creed III, and a significant up-and-coming talent will play him. Here is every piece of information we have on Creed III.
When Will Creed 3 Be Released?
The global release date for Creed III is March 3, 2023. Spectators should anticipate that it will only be shown in cinemas.
Creed III’s release date was originally set for November 23, 2022, however that date was pushed back in July 2022, so this is a little later than we had anticipated.
While viewers can look forward to some exciting on-screen combat in Creed III, the film also has an off-screen battle for box office dominance. The fantasy/adventure film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, starring Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Hugh Grant, and Creed III both have March 3 release dates.

What’s the Story in Creed III?
As of now, the Creed film series has deep roots in the Rocky films thanks to Donnie’s friendship with Rocky Balboa, his efforts to uphold the family name, and his confrontation with his father’s demise through the Dragos fight. However, it appears that the third instalment will further depart from the original franchise by exploring Donnie’s past outside of the Creeds, Dragos, and Balboas.
The Creed III Official Synopsis
“Adonis Creed has been thriving in both his career and family life after ruling the boxing world. When Damian, a boyhood buddy and previous boxing prodigy, emerges from hiding after serving a lengthy jail sentence, he is desperate to demonstrate that he merits a chance in the ring. This confrontation between ex-friends is more than simply a brawl. Adonis must fight Damian, a warrior with nothing to lose, in order to settle the score, risking his future in the process.”
Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin (Space Jam: A New Legacy) wrote the script (King Richard). According to IMDb, Ryan Coogler, who directed the first two films, has a “story by” credit (opens in new tab).
Who is in the Cast of Creed 3?
Jordan will return to the role of Donnie Creed, while Tessa Thompson, who co-starred with him in the first two films, will reprise her role as Bianca Taylor, a musician and Donnie’s fiancée.
Damian Anderson, a former classmate of Donnie’s who has recently been released from prison and who will be the next boxing opponent, is played by Jonathan Majors, who joins the franchise.
In addition, Donnie’s mother Mary Anne Creed (Phylicia Rashad), his trainer Tony “Little Duke” Evers (Wood Harris), and his old adversaries Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) and Ricky Conlan are also returning from the Creed flicks (Tony Bellew). Sylvester Stallone’s Rocky Balboa is not anticipated to make a third appearance in Creed.

With the release of the Creed III teaser, we feel an unusual urge to hit a punching bag (though we’ll pass on Donnie’s workout of pounding a tree). We can’t wait to watch Michael B. Jordan and Jonathan Majors’ confrontation on the big screen because it looks intense.
