Culver City Shooting: After a high-speed chase that began and finished in Culver City early on Sunday morning, a suspect was found to have been shot and killed by police. The information gathered so far shows that the man driving away from the police in a red Ford Explorer was wanted for an assault involving a lethal weapon. The pursuit continued through several communities in the Los Angeles area, including Hollywood and Santa Monica. Still, it finally ended in the 3800 block of Cardiff Ave., when the suspect was shot by law enforcement at approximately 1:30 in the morning.

Despite the efforts of the officers and the medical personnel, the suspect was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. During the pursuit, the red SUV incurred damage to multiple tires in addition to other types of damage. KTLA was informed by a commander of the Culver City Police Department that the investigation had been handed off to the Department of Justice in California.
El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, and Hawthorne police officers were among those who helped with the pursuit. During the early morning hours of Sunday, numerous streets in the central part of Culver City were closed to traffic.
