Destiny 2 Season 19: Bungie’s Destiny 2 (rebranded as Destiny 2: New Light on October 1, 2019, and Destiny: Guardians in Korea) is a first-person shooter available for free, online, and multiplayer. The initial 2017 release was a pay-to-play offering for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The New Light version went free-to-play on October 1, 2019, adopting the games as a service model; the game was released on Stadia the following month; the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions were released in December 2020.

Destiny 2 Season 19 Gameplay
Destiny 2, like its forerunner, is a first-person shooter with role-playing and MMO components. In the first Destiny, players could only talk to other players with whom they were “matched” by the game. A player’s console’s in-game messaging system was their only means of contact with other players in the virtual world. Guided Games, the improved matchmaking system introduced in Destiny 2, lets players look for clans that may use more members for raids. Completing the game’s primary scenario quest lines is the best way to make headway in the game’s overarching story. You can choose from the same three character classes in Destiny 2 as you could in the original game. Players can customize their characters to their liking by choosing from a wide variety of available upgrades, perks, special abilities, and three distinct sub-classes for each playable class.
Warlock, Hunter, and Titan are the three different classes. After deciding on a profession, players can create a character who is either Human, an Awoken (the bluish-gray descendent of Humans), or an Exo (humanoid machines). They’ll have the option to alter their avatars’ appearance, including the alteration of physical characteristics like gender and race. Destiny 2 Season 19 Plot
A year after the SIVA Crisis, the Cabal’s Red Legion carries out an aerial assault on the Last City, destroying the Tower (the Guardians’ headquarters). After receiving the call, the player’s Guardian and Ghost join the Vanguard in their assault on the Red Legion’s command ship. As the Guardians confront Dominus Ghaul, the Red Legion attaches a device to the Traveler and begins draining it of the Light.
When the Guardian’s powers fade, Ghaul comes dangerously close to eliminating them. The Guardian discovers their Ghost two days after the assault, upon awakening. With the help of Suraya Hawthorne, a non-Guardian human from the edges of the Last City, they locate a safe haven known as “the Farm” in the European Dead Zone (EDZ).
After having a vision, the Guardian makes his way to a forest within the EDZ, where he finds a fragment of the Traveler. The Guardian’s Light and the shards own are both revived after Ghost makes contact with it. Once Hawthorne has fixed long-range communications, he’ll be able to listen in on Commander Zavala’s distress call, in which he begs the remaining Guardians to go to Saturn’s moon Titan and help with a counteroffensive there. Titan has been invaded by the Hive, and despite Hawthorne’s protests, the Guardian decides to go there anyhow.
Helped along by Deputy Commander Sloane, they discover that Ghaul possesses a superweapon known as the Almighty, a space station capable of destroying stars and that the Red Legion was deployed to the Milky Way in response to a distress call received during the Taken War two years before. Star systems have been wiped off in an effort to resist Cabal domination. The information also shows that God is stationed close to the Sun, using the fragments of Mercury as a power source.
To aid in a counterattack to reclaim the Last City, Zavala has tasked the Guardian with locating Ikora Rey and Cayde-6. It is revealed that Ghaul, with the help of his mentor the Consul, deposed Emperor Calus and assumed leadership of the Cabal; since then, he has been studying the Traveler in order to master the Light and establish his legitimacy as Emperor.
The Guardian tracks Cayde-6 to the nearly-transformed centaur Nessus. The Guardian recovers a teleporter from the Vex and uses it to rescue Cayde from a portal loop. Failsafe is an artificial intelligence salvaged from the crashed spacecraft Exodus Black. Cayde tells the Guardian to look for Ikora on Jupiter’s moon Io, where she went to inquire about the Traveler. When gathering information about the Almighty, Ikora and Io researcher Asher Mir has the Guardian seek out an old defense AI called a Warmind.
Afterward, the Vanguard gets back together at the Farm and decides that the only way to recover the Last City and save the Traveler is to turn off the Almighty and prevent it from killing the Sun. Zavala is signaled to commence his counterattack while the Guardian boards the Almighty and destroys the weapon. The Consul reprimands Ghaul for his fixation on the Traveler and urges him to take the Light as the Vanguard charges; Ghaul is hesitant until the Consul murders the Speaker, whom Ghaul had imprisoned and tortured to discover more about the Traveler. Ghaul then angrily declares, “I will take the Light,” as he rages and strangles the Consul.
Destiny 2 Season 19 Release Date
The release date for Season 19 of Destiny 2 is set for December 6, 2022. This is a rough estimate based on the end of the current Destiny 2 Season 18 Battle Pass, which is typically when the new season and its Battle Pass begin. The release of the Destiny 2 Lightfall expansion on February 28, 2023, suggests that Season 19 will begin on December 6 and run through the end of February of that year.
