Dh Peligro Cause Of Death

D.H. Peligro, a longtime drummer for the Dead Kennedys, has been confirmed as having passed away after striking his head in what appears to be an accidental fall; however, it is not yet clear what caused D.H.’s death.

On Saturday, the punk rock band shared the news of D.H.’s passing in a post on their official Instagram account, writing, “Yesterday, on the 28th of October, D.H. Peligro, better known as Darren Henley, the drummer for Dead Kennedys, passed away in his home in Los Angeles. The officers who responded to the site reported that he died due to head trauma brought on by a fall that occurred by mistake.”

They say, “The details of the arrangements are still being worked out and will be shared in the following days. During this time of great need, we kindly ask that you respect the family’s need for privacy. I am grateful for the kind words and thoughts that you have provided.”

Our law enforcement sources tell TMZ it’s a bit more mysterious than that, even though we’ve confirmed he did, in fact, fall and hit his head. While they appear to be conclusively saying the fall is what took his life — at least according to a police response they’re citing — our law enforcement sources tell TMZ it’s unclear what exactly happened.

According to the information provided to us by our sources, emergency medical services arrived at the residence of D.H. in the San Fernando Valley just a little after 7 o’clock on Friday evening. His landlord discovered D.H. hiding in the bathroom of the back house he rented. We have been informed that D.H. was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

According to law enforcement sources, his death appears to have resulted from natural causes. No foul play is suspected; nevertheless, an autopsy will be performed to determine his official cause of death. One thing should be made clear, however: according to what we’ve been informed, the fall or blow to the head appears to be unrelated to whatever may have caused him to collapse in the first place, which is still being explored.

In any case… those involved in the music industry are in grief. D.H. joined the Dead Kennedys in 1981, succeeding Bruce Slesinger as the band’s original drummer, and remained with them throughout their formative years, making contributions to some of their most iconic records, such as “In God We Trust,” “Plastic Surgery Disasters,” “Frankenchrist,” and “Bedtime for Democracy.” The band split in the year 1986.

Additionally, Peligro was a member of several different bands, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, for a limited period. RIP. He was 63 years old.
