K-pop boy bands and Disney+ have collaborated to create three special projects for the streaming service. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Walt Disney Company and BTS* studio home Hybe unveiled a new worldwide entertainment relationship. The firms will collaborate to produce five streaming titles, including three that will include members of BTS. One upcoming project is “BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage – LA,” a 4K concert film showcasing BTS’s live performance in November 2021 at the Los Angeles Sofi Stadium. This was the first time the band had encountered fans in person since the pandemic two years prior, when they performed the Billboard hits “Butter” and “Permission to Dance.”
Another project, dubbed “In the Soup: Friendcation,” boasts a star-studded ensemble that includes members of the boy band V of BTS, Itaewon Class* Seo-jun Park, Parasite star Woo-shik Choi, Hyung-sik Park, and Peakboy. The five buddies go on a surprise trip and engage in a variety of leisure and enjoyable activities in the show. BTS Monuments: Beyond the Star, the third endeavour, is described by Disney as “an original docu-series that explores the remarkable journey of 21st-century pop icons BTS.”

In 2023, the show will only be accessible via Disney’s streaming services.
Jessica Kam-Engle, Disney’s APAC head of programming, said, “We are excited to be working with Hybe to showcase their original entertainment made with compelling artist IP on our worldwide streaming services, including Disney+.” “This partnership exemplifies our creative aspiration to work with renowned content producers and prominent figures in Asia Pacific so that mainstream audiences may experience their talent in a variety of ways. We anticipate adding additional music content to our service and are confident that these new titles will enthrall consumers everywhere.” BTS is made up of 7 individuals: RM, Jin, Suga, J. Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Rm serves as the group’s leader.
