Donald Glover to Star in Spider-Man Movie: Donald Glover will be the star and producer of a film based on the Spider-Man villain, the Hypno-Hustler, joining Sony Pictures’ roster of Marvel characters. The son of Eddie Murphy, Myles Murphy, has been hired to create the screenplay for the project, which is still in its early stages without a script or director.
One of Spider-less Man’s well-known antagonists, The Hypno-Hustler, can captivate his victims with his guitar and made his comic book debut in 1978. He goes by the name Antoine Desloin during the day and is the main singer of the Mercy Killers, a band that robs people at concerts.

The project almost probably won’t include Spider-Man himself, as is the case with all of Sony’s live-action Marvel films. The actor-musician has been a fan favorite to play the web-slinger since a 2010 piece by author Marc Bernardin pointed out there is no reason why Spider-Man needs to be white. Thus Glover’s involvement is notable for Spidey fans.
In the 2017 film “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” Glover finally made an appearance as Aaron Davis, the uncle of Miles Morales, the Black boy first depicted in Marvel comics in 2011 and later transformed into Spider-Man. In the 2015 Disney XD series “Ultimate Spider-Man,” Glover also provided Miles’ voice.
The Hypno-Hustler is Sony’s most recent Spider-Man character to receive the feature film treatment, following “Venom,” “Morbius,” “Kraven the Hunter,” and “Madame Web” in 2018 and 2022, respectively. In the Amazon Prime Video series “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” which he co-created and executive produces, Glover will next be seen alongside Maya Erskine (“Pen15”) opposite. The Hollywood Reporter initially published the news.
