We are finding out more details regarding a crash that took place in Dubois County, Indiana on Thursday morning and resulted in many fatalities.
According to reports from Thursday morning, a car and a tanker truck collided on State Road 64 near Pine Ridge Road, just east of the settlement of Saint Anthony, resulting in two fatalities.
The 44-year-old Julie Schnell and her 13-year-old daughter Alayna Schnell both perished in the collision, according to the Indiana State Police.
Addison Schnell, Julie’s 15-year-old daughter, was airlifted to a Louisville hospital after the crash on Thursday morning and is still there in critical condition, according to ISP.
According to ISP, the tanker driver, 27-year-old William Craney, was transferred to a hospital in Evansville and was there as of Thursday midday in stable condition.
Within the Greater Jasper Consolidated Schools school system, Julie Schnell taught high school.

Immediately after the event on Thursday morning, the district issued the following statement:
Dear GJCS Family and Friends, We are deeply saddened to inform you that one of our high school teachers, Mrs. Julie Schnell, and her daughter Alayna passed away in a horrible accident this morning. Alaina, a lively student at Holy Trinity School, was a young woman. For the entire community of Greater Jasper School, this is a tragedy. We are saddened by the passing of such a wonderful teacher and friend. For the Schnell family during this terrible loss, our hearts ache with sorrow. We would want to offer the family our prayers and send positive vibes to Addison, a high school student who is still in the hospital. She and her family will require our community’s assistance as they cope with this enormous loss.
The district went on to state that counselors were available to speak with children about the loss and that high school students had been told.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the authorities, and there are several pieces of evidence that must be analyzed, including photos, videos, statements, and measurements. At the conclusion of the investigation, they claim to have findings.
