Ahead of Tuesday’s midterm elections, election workers are working around Central Florida. On Monday, we had a close-up look at some of the voting-tallying equipment in Orange County. Additionally, our team observed election officials preparing mail-in votes for counting.
Elections Supervisor Bill Cowles wants to remind voters that if they’re casting a ballot on Election Day, they must travel to their designated precinct. Cowles advised looking up your polling place on our website, your voter information card, or your sample ballot. Get out and vote in this crucial election since it’s your only chance to do so.

Workers in Lake County are likewise preparing for the election. Voters should also be aware that it is now too late to mail in their vote-by-mail ballot, according to Supervisor of Elections Alan Hays. By 7 p.m. on Election Day, you can deliver that ballot to the supervisor of the elections office.
They have three options: hand over their vote-by-mail ballot at the voting station in their precinct, use it as a sample ballot, or take it with them. At the time of the most recent check, more than 51,000 early voters and approximately 35,000 mail-in ballots had been processed. Expect lineups at your polling location, but be patient—our staff is working as diligently as they can.
You must be in line by 7 p.m. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Don’t forget to bring your ID, as well. In terms of security, election officials in Lake County informed News 6 that they are collaborating closely with the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, sheriff’s office, and local police forces.
