He is a Canadian actor and producer, Elliot Page (previously Ellen Page, born February 21, 1987). Numerous awards have been presented to him, including an Oscar, two BAFTAs, and an Emmy nomination. Pit Pony (1997–2000), for that he was nominated for a Young Artist Award, and his recurrent appearances in Trailer Park Boys (2002) and ReGenesis (2003) established Page as a rising star in the entertainment industry (2004).

With his role in Hard Candy (2005), Page made his acting debut and was nominated for an Empire Award and an Austin Film Critics Association Award. Elliot Page, the star of “The Umbrella Academy,” came out as a trans guy in 2020, and it was immediately clear that this would alter the course of the popular Netflix series. The superhero series’ third season, which debuted last week on Netflix, provided the first chance to talk about Page’s change. Viktor Hargreeves, a character played by Page, also undergoes a change in the new season, but one of the main issues the creative team had was achieving this without it seeming forced or callous. Page and “The Umbrella Academy” showrunner Steve Blackman discussed their approach to Viktor’s transition and what the new narrative means to them in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The way it has been handled, in my opinion, is one of the most unique aspects of this, Page said. Of course, there are some emotional moments with the siblings. They are all unique in my opinion, both as individuals and in the context of their particular connections. The sequence where Luther and Diego are coming down the stairs, Luther’s uneasiness, and all these other things were things that I was simultaneously feeling because I had entered a period of time where I was recognized as a trans person and was having a variety of new experiences. Then, which was incredibly amazing, these sights were echoing with that. Most of the time, we miss it when we don’t have control over our tales. It, therefore, felt really unique.
Steve Blackman also hinted at future intentions to continue exploring the subject, although he insisted that Viktor’s identity as a trans person is just one of many aspects of his character. Blackman merely suggested that it would have an effect on Viktor’s plot. If Season 4 is fortunate enough for us, we have plans for what we’d like to do.
It was good, in my opinion, that it didn’t turn into the show’s plot, and together with these lovely folks you’re speaking to, we were able to create something that felt really realistic, balanced, and honest. Moving forward, we want to keep doing that. Page reiterated that view and expressed interest in portraying more sympathetic trans stories in the future, should the show be renewed for a second season.
