Home Town stars Erin and Ben Napier have moved to Laurel, Mississippi to continue buying and renovating historic properties. Erin used to work in corporate graphic design, but now she’s an artist full-time. Ben is an accomplished historian and woodworker. Erin’s talent in interior design and Ben’s in woodworking join together to help families buy older homes and make them over in their series.
When they’re not constructing houses, the couple runs Laurel Mercantile, a shop in downtown Laurel where they sell high-end, American-made heirloom products. Erin and Ben decided to build a cutting board and countertop factory to bolster the regional economy. The couple’s daughters, Helen and Mae, are responsible for a lot of things. Therefore, we shall talk about the illness of erin napier’s daughter and many other things associated with her.
Erin Napier Illness Report
In 2018, Erin and her husband wrote a memoir in which they discussed their history of illness, and in the same year, she spoke to one media source about the traumatic experience.
“It was a really sad, scary, and confusing ten years,” Erin said. Erin recalled that she first experienced health issues when she was 19: According to the patient, “in the beginning, it would be 24 hours of terrible stomach pain and a low-grade fever, and then it would disappear.”
She claimed, however, that things escalated after her 2008 wedding to Ben, then age 38. “Two days turned into three in no time at all.” Erin’s worst episodes would last a week, during which she’d be bedridden, in pain, and unable to pinpoint the source.
After “going through everything,” as Ben put it, “from doctors thinking it might be something really bad like cancer to saying it was in Erin’s head,” she ultimately underwent emergency exploratory surgery, where it was discovered that her organs were all linked together, attached by a tissue that covered everything.
When they made the discovery, they were baffled and sent her to a different surgeon. During a second surgery, doctors discovered the origin of the extremely rare disease: a perforated appendix. The organ has been bursting and healing itself frequently for years. When it initially occurred when I was 19 years old, a partial rupture occurred.
“It’s not enough to kill me, but it’s enough to make me sick,” Erin said in 2018. Scar tissue had formed around the organ and spread “like cancer” to her other internal organs as the organ had healed itself. After enduring a lot of suffering, she eventually overcame her illness.
Erin Napier Had Throat Surgery
In May of 2022, Erin Napier announced on social media that she had been admitted to the hospital for surgery. She posted a selfie with Rodney and the caption, “Staying tonight in the hospital after a throat procedure and feeling so cared for by an old friend,” on Instagram.
Expecting a bowl of chicken noodle soup, tonight I got a much-needed visit from an old friend instead. She said she knew one of the hospital workers because he was a longtime family friend. Napier avoided discussing her throat problems in this post, and it wasn’t until January 2023 that she spoke in detail about them.
If you’re a fan of “Home Town” on HGTV, you know that the local of Laurel, Mississippi frequently offers viewers some insight into what goes on behind the scenes during broadcasts. The mother of two finally opened out about her time in the hospital on Twitter, where she detailed how she had appeared in multiple episodes.
To prepare for this and future episodes, Napier tweeted, “I was hospitalised with an abscessed tonsil during this block, so this episode and several others are about to have me with a weird voice and super puffy-faced from IV steroids.” Napier, sadly, had to tape the show while nursing an injury. The brilliant designer must keep working.

In 2023, What Illness Does Erin Napier Have?
As of September in 2023, Erin Napier reportedly did not suffer from any illnesses. Erin’s perforated appendix symptoms started in 2004. Also recovering from surgery on her throat was Erin Napier. The HGTV celebrity shared a photo of herself with her family friend Rodney, a worker in the hospital cafeteria, on Instagram while the two were together in bed.
“I’m staying in the hospital tonight after a throat procedure, and feeling so cared for by an old friend,” Napier said. The Home Town hostess, who has daughters Helen, 4, and Mae, 12 months, with husband and co-star Ben, sent a heartfelt tribute to Rodney in which she and her family shared their special relationship with him. Erin has experienced her share of health problems.
She suffered from chronic abdominal pain for a long time before doctors discovered that her appendix had been repeatedly bursting and healing, leaving her internal organs wrapped in scar tissue. The second operation to remove it was successful. She and Ben have two kids despite her fears that the damage would prohibit her from having children.
