Eternals 2 is actually happening at Marvel, at least according to Patton Oswalt, who played Pip the Troll in the credits scene of the first movie. “They have said that there will be a follow-up to Eternals. What Will Happen in Eternals 2?
The first movie got a lot of ideas from Jack Kirby’s comics, but it mostly told its own story. This makes it hard to tell what will happen in the second movie by looking at the comics. We’re lucky that we can just think about how the first movie ended. After going against their leader and creator Arishem and stopping Tiamut from destroying Earth, the Eternals go their separate ways and think that everything is over for now. But they are very wrong because Arishem takes Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos away from Earth.
Arishem tells them that he will look into their memories to decide if humanity deserves to live or die. In the comics, he is a Celestial who decides if a planet’s civilization deserves to live or die. Makkari, Druig, and Thena avoid Arishem when they’re on the Eternals’ ship, the Domo, on their way to tell other Eternals what they’ve learned about who they really are.
In the scene after the credits, they talk about how Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos have “disappeared,” and they think Arishem is to blame. Eros comes aboard the Domo and says he can help them find their friends. Even though Eros and the Eternals could show up in other MCU movies, this seems more like a set-up for Eternals 2 than for another MCU movie. As Dane goes to touch the Ebony Blade in the scene after the credits, it’s possible that the Black Knight will join them.
Harington told Digital Spy that he didn’t know what was going to happen in the future, but he didn’t rule out coming back as the Black Knight. “I try to live in the present, especially at work, so as far as I’m concerned, I’m Dane Whitman in this movie. If you go see the movie, you might learn a little more about me,” he said. “I wanted to be a part of the MCU and this franchise so that Dane could be more than just a human in the future. I hope that will happen in the future.”
Eternals 2 Star Cast
The majority of the cast will undoubtedly return to reprise their parts from the original movie if there is a sequel. The following actors have a higher likelihood of reprising their roles in Eternals 2:
- Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie plays Theni, an elite Eternal warrior.
- Sersi is played by Gemma Chan.
- Kingo is played by Kumail Nanijiani.
- Sprite is played by Lia McHugh.
- Phastos is played by Brian Tyree Henry.
- Makkari is played by Lauren Ridloff.
- Druid is played by Barry Keoghan.
- Dane Whiteman is played by Kit Harington.
Since Salma Hayek’s Ajak, Richard Madden’s Ikaris, and Deon Lee’s Gilgamesh were all murdered in the previous film, they may not be reprising their roles. Patton Oswalt is expected to return, and the sequel may also include music singer Harry Styles, who played in a cameo role in the first film.
