Eustis Florida —
A nursery in Eustis has been given the green light to start growing medical marijuana, but before it does, there are some security upgrades that need to happen, Treadwell Nursery owner Jenny Treadwell said.
“Right now, we’re preparing for cultivation authorization, so the state will come in and do an inspection and then we will be able to start growing,” she said. “We’re doing a lot of security upgrades, we’re starting to interview people.
long with the business aspect of growing medical marijuana, Treadwell said there were other reasons her company got into the business.
“Just from research that we’ve done, we read that it can really help with Alzheimer’s, and that’s something that people in our family have had and that’s something that really means something to us,” she said.
Unlike other nurseries, Treadwell doesn’t plan to sell its license to grow medical marijuana.
“We actually plan on growing it and processing it and eventually dispensing,” Treadwell said. “We don’t plan on selling our license. We plan to actually do it.”
Treadwell was not sure exactly when her nursery would start growing medical marijuana.
