LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a man who was suspected of driving under the influence caused a collision in Lake County on Saturday, which resulted in a child, age 5, being in critical condition and a lady being gravely injured. According to the state troopers, this took place at approximately 8:30 in the morning on County Road 448 and Shirley Shores Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Daksh Wadhwa, age 30, was driving in the opposite direction on CR-448 when he collided with a Mount Dora woman and her child who were heading in the opposite direction. According to the state police, Wadhwa pulled into the eastbound lane, and both drivers swerved to avoid colliding with one other.

However, the front of Wadhwa’s automobile collided with the right side of the other vehicle. The woman was in critical condition when she arrived at Orlando Regional Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries. A trauma alert was issued for the youngster, who was 5 years old, and he was transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital.
Wadhwa was detained for driving under the influence of alcohol as well as possession of cocaine. According to FHP, his breath test result was 0.189. In Florida, the permissible blood alcohol content is 0.08. He was arrested and taken into custody in the Lake County Jail.
