According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, a Florida man who allegedly broke into a Palm Coast gas station and stole stuff was identified and subsequently apprehended after he left behind his debit card.
When deputies arrived at the company after the alarm went off early on Sunday morning, they discovered that the front entrance was unlocked. They discovered a debit card bearing the name Lantz Kurtz inside the deserted petrol station, next to the cash register.
After watching security footage, the proprietor of the gas station concluded that a man had entered the store from the back, taken several goods, unlocked the front door, and left after that.

Police claimed to have recognized Kurtz from an earlier nighttime vehicle fire that occurred nearby the petrol station. Kurtz, who was discovered in the same spot as his broken-down car, was spoken to, and he reportedly admitted to breaking into the store and stealing the goods.
The sheriff’s office claims Kurtz admitted to leaving his debit card behind so he could return to the store and make a later payment for the merchandise.
“He must have really wanted those items to break into a closed convenience store to get them,” Sheriff Rick Staly said in a statement. “Leaving a debit card behind does not absolve you from theft or committing a burglary.”
Charges of armed burglary of a structure and petit theft led to Kurtz’s arrest and booking into the Flagler County jail. He eventually posted a $10,000 bond and was freed.
